With over 13 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, community organizing, and youth development, John Queen is a proven executive dedicated to building equitable systems, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and delivering impactful programs for underserved communities. Currently serving as President of Bayside H.O.Y.A.S., Inc., John Queen leads a regional nonprofit that promotes academic excellence, civic responsibility, and positive character development for youth and young adults across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
John Queen brings a results-oriented approach to organizational leadership, overseeing strategic planning, program development, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and board governance. Under his leadership, Bayside H.O.Y.A.S. has grown into a trusted anchor institution—serving as both a youth empowerment hub and a collaborative community partner.
In addition to nonprofit leadership, John Queen has served in key roles across public education, mental health services, and grassroots civic initiatives. His experience includes directing programs for disconnected youth, providing behavioral support in public schools, and consulting with healthcare and community organizations to improve outreach, engagement, and service delivery. His work is grounded in the belief that transformational change happens when communities work together—uniting around shared values, listening deeply, and creating opportunities that reflect the needs and potential of every citizen.
